Should you be worrying about AI content detection?
There’s been a lot of talk recently about AI content and whether Google can detect it and penalise sites for using it. If you’ve been using AI to help with your content creation, you might be wondering if you need to worry about this.
The truth is that Google has said it’s not specifically looking to penalise AI content, but it is looking for quality content that’s helpful to users. If your AI-generated content is thin, repetitive or doesn’t actually answer people’s questions properly, then yes, you might have problems.
What matters more is whether your content sounds natural and provides real value. If you’re just churning out generic articles that could apply to any business in any location, then you’re probably not going to rank well regardless of whether it’s AI or human written.
It may be that you use AI as a starting point but then edit it heavily to make it sound like a real person wrote it. You need to add your own experience, specific examples and make sure it flows naturally. If you wouldn’t speak like that in real life, then don’t write like that on your website.
The key is to focus on creating content that genuinely helps your target audience rather than just trying to tick boxes for search engines. Quality still matters more than quantity.
